Monte Cassino - the Game

This game will be set in the scrambles to secure the area behind Monte Cassino during May 1944. In this the troops of Polish 2nd Corps and 1st FallschirmjÃ¤ger Division were involved in some of the hardest, closest and bloodiest combats on the western front. Every hill and farmhouse was vital and every wall or rock a fortress. The Poles The Polish unit represented will be the 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division. The Germans The German unit represented will be the 1st FallschirmjÃ¤ger Division.* A detailed description of kit will follow shortly but the main point to note is that that this game is in the Italian theatre, and so the Mediterranean variants of uniforms are the order of the day. Weapons rules will also follow at an appropriate time, but expect them to be almost exactly the same as the PBI games. Where and When The game will be held at Taffyjohn's excellent Ex Site in North Wales. The game is a single day event on Sunday May 16th and camping space is available for Saturday night. Cost The cost will be Â£25 per player and details on booking will follow closer to the time. Please post any questions, queries, quandaries or anything beginning with a 'q'. I have organised this well in advance so there loads of time to argue about the correct colour of FallschirmjÃ¤ger knickers. *given the distinctiveness of the FallschirmjÃ¤ger kit, and that there are many German players who can not do such a loadout there will be a Heer option in the near future, though all FallschirmjÃ¤gers would be great a balance of practicality and reality will be reached.

If this is the questions thread then when can players arrive on site on Saturday - and is it the farm entrance you are using for camping?

Are there cooked meals available Saturday evening /Sunday morning / Sunday lunch?

Reply to Chommers camping at the moment is still up in the air but will sort it 2moro

No food for Saturday guys but will have the BBQ going and cookers on the go if you want to cook your own, I might get my arm twisted and do Sunday lunch though

Little bit as clear as mud but things are a bit hectic with me at the moment :evil:

I have seen pictures in Italy of them with the Mk VI/VII type gas mask bags, none of the 'little one' (I was going to look up terminology of these things but, meh). Most photos however show neither.

So the answer is... wait for it... inconclusive as to whether they wore them or not. I shal thus leave it entirely to the conscience of the individual.

ok i know i done a new thread on this

this is a cry for help is there any 1 that can give me a lift i'll put towards petrol the clutch on my van is gone so wont go
for repair till nxt week
